• Introduction

  To access the PDF settings
  Start ScanToPDF
  On the menu click Edit and choose Options or click the Gear icon
  Click the PDF icon
  
  
  
  The PDF Import window enables configuration of the PDF properties for the documents created by ScanToPDF

• 1. Document information

  Set the title, author, subject and keywords needed for the Metadata of the PDF document and click OK. These details are visible using the PDF viewer. Using Adobe Reader for example, these are visible using the File, Properties menu.

• 2. Document security

  Enable this option to instruct ScanToPDF to apply a password to all documents saved.
  
  There are two password options in PDF documents
  
  a master password
  a user password.

• 3. Document restrictions

  Enable any of these options to modify the document restrictions applied when the PDF is viewed or opened.

• 4. Viewer preference

  Enable options to modify the behaviour of the PDF viewer when the saved document is opened for viewing.

• 5. PDF Format

  PDF Version - Select a PDF format from the drop-down list.

   

  PDF/A-1b (ISO 19005-1) compliance - Check this option to indicate that ScanToPDF should create a PDF file that is compliant with the PDF/A-1b standard

   

  PDF/A is a file format for the long-term archiving of electronic documents. It is based on the PDF Reference Version 1.4 from Adobe Systems Inc. (implemented in Adobe Acrobat 5 and latest versions) and is defined by ISO 19005-1:2005, an ISO Standard that was published on October 1, 2005.

  
  

  Color image quality - Use the selector to set the required compression (High Quality / Low compression, larger file size and vice-versa)

   

  Lossless Compression

  Set the slider to the lowest compression. This will make the compression true lossless (as shown below)
