Summary
The file print plugin provides printing features to ScanToPDF.
It can be used to print documents manually or automatically using a pre-defined or selected printer. This enables printing with or without user intervention.
Using the Print only setting it's possible to convert your scanner into a photo copier without the need to save the documents you scan before printing.
1. Show printer selection dialog
2. Use pre-defined printer
Select the printer to use for printing documents using the drop down combo box
3. Printer name expression
Use a ScanToPDF expression to define the printer name, for example
4. Cancel if invalid printer or expression
Setting the option to checked indicates that if the printer cannot be resolved then the print operation will be cancelled.
5. Print preview
Checking this option indicates that a print preview window should be displayed prior to printing.
6. Auto-rotate
Checking this option indicates that the pages should be automatically rotated to match the printer settings.
7. Print trigger
Choose the trigger for automatic printing
None
- no automatic printing will be performed
After document save
- printing is performed after a document is saved
After file import
- printing is performed once a PDF file has been imported (Only PDF files)
8. Stop process if print is cancelled
Checking this option indicates that if printing is cancelled, the batch save operation will also be cancelled (only applicable when saving batches)
9. Auto print On/Off option feature visible on the UI
Checking this option indicates that the auto print option will be available from a check box placed on the main user interface allowing the user easy access to the option
10. Show "Print only" option on Save button list
Checking this option indicates that the Print only option will be added to the Save button on the toolbar, as shown below
When the Print only option is selected the document will be printed, but NOT saved (photo-copy mode)
11. Print only is default button
Set this option so that the Print only option is the default choice for the Save button on the menu. The Save option will become a choice off the Print only button when this mode is selected.
This is useful if the Print only option is used often
